THE STUDIO
The WHY behind The Sudio...
This is going to sound so obnoxious, but I was disappointed with the quality of yoga offered in-person within my community. I wanted more than just a fitness class. While there were a million and one yoga classes to choose from online, everything seemed to be prerecorded. But I still wanted that community feel, to be practicing alongside other yogis, even if they weren't in the room, and to know that there is someone else on this spiritual journey with me. Selfishly, I wanted a space where I could share the gifts of yoga with overwhelming passion, and I wanted to be able to provide that same platform for other yoga teachers to share their gifts. And thus, The Studio, your online mindfulness sanctuary for personal transformation was born, offering LIVE yoga, breath work, meditation, and personal development classes.
In the studio you will...
practice speaking more kindly to yourself
be more present with your loved ones
feel good in your body
get out of your head
develop better coping skills

Nicole
I got into yoga and fitness to change my body because I hated the way I looked, but I had no idea that it would completely heal the parts of me that wanted to change my body. I moved to SE Asia in 2016 to complete my 200hr YTT certification, which is where my journey of personal growth began. When I'm not teaching yoga you can find me outside climbing, hiking, skiing, mountain biking, surfing, or paddle boarding. As a yoga teacher, my cues are easy to follow and always start from the foundation and build up. I love helping people feel comfortable in their bodies and develop a deeper connection to self.
Stefanie
Growing up I was overwhelmed by the pressure of having to fulfil other people’s expectations to fit in. I was struggling with anxiety and insecurities that led me to have panic attacks. Moving my body and simply "being present“ felt like a mental vacation. Learning and practicing Yoga gently pointed out the areas in my life, that needed healing and change. With time I regained the internal peace I was craving so badly. My anxiety decreased and slowly faded away - it felt like a weight got lifted of my chest! Looking back, I can see how beautifully my life transformed through Yoga (and still does!) and I’m excited to see how yours will too!

Since 2015, I have deepened my practice of yoga and somatic disciplines undertaking intensive programs in contemporary dance, functional anatomy, Butoh, Contact Improvisation and Physical Theatre. In 2018, as the result of my passion for yoga and eastern philosophy, I certified as a Hatha Yoga Teacher. I have developed a practice that combines the study of yoga, meditation and its philosophy with somatic and artistic research. The result of a deep love for the body, for nature, and for the world.

About our unconventional methods...
The reason you haven't had any success with therapy is because you're still in your head. You can talk about it until your blue in the face. You can read all the books. But nothing will change until you get out of your head and into the body. Turning what you know in your mind into embodied action. In yoga this is called Vidya—living knowledge. At The Studio, we teach yoga for personal transformation. Break cycles of dysfunction, trauma, and negative behaviour by developing better coping skills, feeling good in your body, and speaking more kindly to yourself. You'll practice doing this with movement, breath work, and meditation that expand your self-awareness.

FAQs:
What style of yoga would be best for me?
You have to ask yourself, what is my desired outcome? If you're looking for flexibility, try yin yoga. If you're looking for strength, stamina, and balance, try hatha. If you have any injuries, concerns, or questions, send me an email. I always love hearing from you!

Which style is better suited for injury rehab?
If you've experience a break or tear in the last 6-months you will want to practice hatha yoga and AVOID YIN YOGA. For rehabilitating old injuries 1-year+ old, practice yin yoga.

What classes does The Studio offer?
Hatha Yoga
The term Hatha is a combination of Ha, meaning sun, and tha, meaning moon. This represents the balance of opposing forces, such as strength and flexibility, effort and surrender, that practitioners aim to bring into harmony using movement, breath, cleansing, and meditation.
Yin Yoga
In contrast to hatha yoga, yin yoga holds postures for 3-5 minutes with all the postures relatively close to the ground, requiring little to no muscular effort. Yin yoga targets the connective tissue—tendons, ligaments, and fascia. It is a more meditative and restorative style that focuses on deep flexibility.
Restorative
This class is pure nourishment for your nervous system and your body. We use props like bolsters, cushions, blankets and blocks to set up poses in a way where the muscles don't need to exert effort, allowing all the systems of the body to unwind, let go of tension and reach complete relaxation. This class provides an opportunity to give your mind and body the gift of deep rest.
Nervous System Regulation
Embark on a journey of giving your nervous system the attention and care it deserves and needs! Just like we tone our muscles, we can also tone our nervous system and this is exactly what we do in this class. With the help of neurosensory exercises, vagus nerve toning techniques, self-massage, slow repetitive movement, guided visualization and somatic practices, this class will strengthen your capacity to restore, rewire, repair & build resilience from the inside out.
Self-Care Sunday
Self-Care Sunday is your personal development class. The perfect companion to your existing yoga practice. This non-traditional class is designed to help you anchor in the lessons you learn on your mat, integrating those lessons into your every day life, helping you to become the best version of yourself.
You can expect:
—journal prompts to reflect on the past week
—scheduling prompts to plan for the week ahead.
—movement to unwind, relax, and open
—mindset work for better coping skills
Healthy Back
This class is designed to promote spinal health, alleviate back pain, prioritize safe postural alignment, and enhance overall well-being. Expect a moderate-paced sequence that seamlessly combines therapeutic yoga techniques with mindful movements and breathwork, addressing common back issues such as stiffness, tension, and discomfort. This class is suitable for individuals dealing with various back issues, including hernias, disk protrusions, osteoporosis, slipped disks, and other related concerns.
Somatics
The body, mind, and the entire nervous system are guided on a journey of movement exploration, releasing emotional stress and promoting the functional, myofascial recovery of natural anatomical and joint movement. This practice dissolves the barriers of judgment, stimulates creativity, imagination, and proprioception. This technique is developed from Butoh dance, in particular Jinen Butoh by master Atsushi Tackenouchi. Journey through the sensations that arise in the body with the practice of embodiment.
Embodied Mindfulness
In this practical, self-reflective and interactive class, we will explore mindfulness topics and practices that help build compassion, gratitude, grit, courage, resilience, calm, confidence, courage, motivation, inspiration and so much more. The intention of this class is to empower you with practical tools that help you make small positive shifts in your day to day life and rewire the brain to 'install' positive experiences.
